Accessibility

Our commitment to keeping this site usable for everyone.

Last updated

Template. An accessibility statement should describe the site’s real state, including known gaps. Claiming full WCAG conformance without an audit is itself a risk — an honest “partially conformant, here’s what we know” statement is both more useful and more defensible.

Our aim

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or browser zoom.

Current state

This site aims to meet [WCAG 2.2 Level AA — CONFIRM YOUR TARGET]. It has not yet been formally audited, so this statement describes intent rather than verified conformance.

What has been done deliberately:

  • Every book cover has descriptive alternative text
  • Colour choices are theme-aware and respect your system’s light/dark setting
  • Page structure uses real headings and landmarks rather than styled text
  • The site works without JavaScript, apart from the cookie banner
  • Layout reflows to narrow screens and tolerates browser zoom

[ADD KNOWN ISSUES HERE AS THEY ARE FOUND. An empty list reads as untested.]
